Yoga Mat Logo: Laser Engraving vs UV Printing

A guide to putting a logo on a custom yoga mat: the difference between laser engraving and UV printing, what each method suits, and how to choose for your brand

When a yoga mat carries your brand, the logo goes on in one of two ways: laser engraving or UV printing. Both are applied to the mat's surface, and the choice comes down to the look you want.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving marks the logo into the mat's surface rather than laying colour on top. The result is a logo that is part of the surface itself, which suits a clean, tone-on-tone look where the mark reads through the material.

UV Printing

UV printing puts the logo — and patterns and artwork — onto the surface in colour. It is the method that carries a full-colour logo, a custom pattern or artwork, so it fits brands whose logo depends on colour.

What Both Share

Either way the logo sits on the PU surface of the mat. Both methods are available for custom orders, and both are set up with your artwork when the sample is made.

How to Choose

If your logo works as a single mark without colour, laser engraving suits it. If your logo or pattern needs colour, UV printing carries it. If you are not sure, the sample stage is where you see the logo on your chosen mat colour before the order goes to production.
